Position: Administration and IT Intern
Job Type: Part-time
Location: SODRI Office- Mogadishu, Somalia
Background
The SODRI is a research institution headquartered in Mogadishu, Somalia. SODRI conducts Development -relevant research on Social, economics, politics, governance, population, health, education, urbanization and related development issues in Somalia. SODRI’s internship is designed to develop and cultivate interpersonal & professional skills.
IT Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out configuration and set-up of the Windows 10 operating system and other computer programs at the Center.
- Carry out preventive maintenance of laptops and desktops for computers.
- Assist in user support within the Center.
- Conduct regular updates of ICT inventory, and cable management /machine arrangement.
Administrations Duties
- Greeting and directing visitors, answering phone inquiries, and handling complaints in a courteous, professional manner
- Ensuring office supplies are maintained, including checking inventory and working with vendors to ensure adequate levels of necessary supplies at all times
- Occasionally traveling off-site to deliver reports or files to other departments
- Ensuring the confidentiality and security of files and filing systems
- Coordinating schedules, arranging meetings, distributing memos and reports, and ensuring that everyone is kept current with necessary company news and information
- Operating copy equipment, fax machines, printers, or other equipment necessary
- Other Responsibilities may include research and writing, content creation, data analytics, community or donor outreach, and other duties depending on skill set and interest.
Qualifications
- Superior attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
- Preference for rising junior or senior with a passion for social justice issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in G Suite, specifically Gmail, Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms
- Passionate about social justice issues
